How to Plan for and Live Your Dreams: Everything You Need to Know

The Art of Recovering from Failure: How to Pick Yourself Up and Keep Going

Failure isn't falling down; it's not getting up again that makes you a failure. ... Here is how to cope with failure in 5 achievable steps

Step 1 Recognize that you have failed

Failure is a result of your actions You could have avoided your failure in the first place if you had done something differently Failure is not fatal; it is only the fall from your previous achievement If you choose to use failure as a platform for improvement and progress, you will find that the risk of failure is greatly reduced Step 2Experiment Consider the following experiment to determine what mistakes you are making that lead to failure For each of these experiments, make sure you take time to think through how the experiment could have gone wrong. One day you notice that the switch in your car isn't working. You drive to the nearest mechanic to have them fix it. Upon arrival, the mechanic informs you that the part he needs to fix the car doesn't exist anymore.

Step 2 Change your story

it was our job to provide the best possible customer experience, all of the shipping packages and orders that we sent out were properly packed and addressed. Our online ordering system was broken. We had mistakenly installed a new version of the ordering software into our system and we were not aware of this. We believe that the impact of this error was catastrophic. The problem began on April 27th, and we immediately addressed the issue by pushing back a lot of the orders that were being impacted. We also notified our customers, through multiple emails and phone calls.

Step 3 Improve your skills

You need to improve your skills. Learning and perfecting your skills will make you a better version of yourself and will help you stay motivated in your pursuit. After all, if you’re working for a company to get an opportunity to make more money than you would ever make otherwise, you have to prove to the recruiter that you are capable of getting better results than what the company is paying you. Step 4Build your network This one’s self explanatory. Build your network with the best people who can help you move to the next step. Every time you accomplish something, get a little bit closer to these people who will help you when you need it. Step 5Take a big step You have to take the big step. I’ve heard it all over the years about what you should or should not do.

Step 4 Change your perspective

You can't win if you don't play.

Step 5 Build your resilience

Success is more like a staircase than a hill. On each new rung of your personal ladder, your next failure is the same as your first. You're never really strong until you're weak If you have nothing to lose, why would you worry about anything at all? We all get knocked down. Sometimes, we get knocked down twice. Failure is a form of informed progress. Failure is a positive emotion When we pick ourselves up, we can move on. We can set our sights on the things we want to achieve. By resilience-building, we learn to choose the best option and build our cognitive muscle memory. If you want to break your pattern of making mistakes, learn from the past and grow stronger for the next time. You can't control the world, but you can choose how you face it. Keep going.

Conclusion

Unlearning fear and revising thinking A critical component to overcoming failure is the development of resilience. Resilience involves the ability to shift quickly from a negative to a positive mindset and adapt your mind to cope with challenges. Resilience is typically influenced by five key factors including: personal choice, social support, self-efficacy, life skills and knowledge of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). Cogent resilience is when you do something difficult but not unbearable, and maintain control over your life. Successful people, such as Olympic athletes, coach themselves to build their resilience. Unlearning fear and revising thinking are critical to improving resilience and training your mind to be resilient. One of the greatest barriers to success is fear.

How to Plan for and Live Your Dreams: Everything You Need to Know

First of all, when I say “realize your dreams”, I want to be clear that while you should set yourself high-level goals, as a human being, you can’t make a fish fly and a bird swim! You also have to be ready to work towards making things happen for real (don’t worry it’s fun as well!).

What are dreams?

The dictionary says that a dream is: …a mental image formed by a thought, memory, or emotion that is unattainable or is both fleeting and obscure. Sounds pretty legit. Why? Dreams mean that a lot of things about the past, present, and future are being stirred up! Things we may have never thought to think about, but that hold a lot of weight. For example, the first thing I’d add to that definition of a dream is if you can remember it… This all relates back to what I said at the beginning of this article: the first step to realizing your dreams is to identify what those dreams are and what kind of life you want to lead. Your dreams are not about you. They are not about what you think you want. They are about what is best for everyone else. Is that sounding right? It should.

What are dreams for?

Dreams are basically goals for you and your life. However, you probably aren’t aware of that. When you realize that you are living your dreams, it’s because you have consciously set yourself a goal. This is why I want to share with you these steps to make it happen. Create an Awesome Vision Board – Here, you place your dream in the forefront of your mind (a board will allow you to even better visualize your dreams). These are the things you really want. For example, I wanted to write a book. So I made a board full of inspirational pictures and words like “Forever Young”, “Dream Big”, “Do What You Love”, etc. These are all the things I would like to do in the future. Share your Vision Board – Make sure you share this with your friends and family.

Why do dreams matter?

Dreams can help you achieve big goals in ways that could be hard for us to imagine. Now, of course that can sound pretty trite at first, but the truth is that dreaming big can bring you closer to achieving those goals, as well as allowing you to learn, grow, improve, and become a happier version of yourself. Personally, my favorite goal to work towards is financial freedom. It’s a goal that makes my heart beat faster. But in my dream I had, money wasn’t really my motivating factor, it was freedom. Now as we’ll be discussing, freedom is a powerful motivator. In fact, it’s almost better than money. The truth is, when we have financial freedom we no longer have to worry about making ends meet and have a ton of options.

How do I identify my dream?

So how do you even define a dream? In the business world, you can calculate how much money you want to make and see how high you can go from there. That’s a good start, but the truth is if you don’t know where you’re trying to go, how do you know if you’re going in the right direction? If you’re working towards a personal goal, you need to define it first. Maybe your dream is to work on a project that you love, or your family, or your community. How do you get there? Are you trying to work for a large corporation and meet millions of people? Are you working on a passion project and reaching people from your small hometown? These are your aims and what it will take to get there.

How do I plan for my dream?

Now that you have a clear idea of what you want, and have set a goal to reach it, how do you go about it? The reason it is important to decide how you are going to start is because you are the engine of your dream, and therefore the engine of your dreams. That said, if you don’t have a clear idea, or you are not prepared to take a risk and go for it, then you are most certainly going to fail. Make a list of your dreams. That list will help you think out what is most important to you. If you do that, you will know what to focus on. That will make all the difference in your quest. Here are some examples of real life dreams that have been reached: Kirk Cameron broke through to a wider audience and became a household name.

Conclusion

Great things take hard work and don’t come to those who do not try hard. You should not just sit around waiting for something good to happen, if you want to change your life, you need to be the change you want to see in your life. Life isn’t all about money or fame; it’s about your relationships, the lives of the people you care about and your ability to make a positive difference in this world. Money is important to some people, fame is important to others but when it comes to you personally, success and money should never come before anything else.
